Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American Sportscaster. She anchors SportsNation and serves as a SportsCenter anchor. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. She is the child of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual and has been since her age of nine. This skill helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg hired her after this as the sports reporter. In 2009 she relocated to Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting on KNVO TV 48 Univision. The stories she covered were about the issue of immigration and trafficking drugs in both Texas and Mexico. Also, she was often called upon to be an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate where she took on additional responsibilities. She wrote for the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and was the anchor. She also served as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. It was the same role as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on UniMas Network. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. There is also an older sibling. The family moved in 1992 to Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. Then, shortly afterward they separated, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed the job of his dreams. At the time of her senior year in high school but having a clear vision of what she would like to accomplish with her life Antonietta visited the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. The campus was a dream for her. They also offered her the degree she wanted. She graduated from school and was went to the University as an undergraduate major in media studies. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also WRMU's 91.1FM station where she worked for a number of years, was her friend. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was deeply moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
